As an athlete myself, I started Next Shot Coaching with an idea to make the basketball improvement process more fun, focused, and convenient.
I grew up in the New England area where clam chowder and cold winters were frequent. With two parents who both worked full-time jobs, and a brother who was also active in sports, its needless to say we were always scrambling to get to and from practices, lessons, and games. Most of the time it felt like we were racing against the clock.
I was lucky enough to have a long and successful playing career at the high school and collegiate level. Throughout my basketball journey I experienced a wide-range of coaches and instructors who each had their own unique coaching approach.
Along the way, I cultivated my own coaching style that incorporates the athlete first. Part of this includes the “next shot” mindset, which strives to maintain a positive outlook. Instead of worrying about the last shot, the goal is to have our intention and energy focused on the next shot. Additionally, I have seen the best approach for success involves a more collaborative effort with player, parent, and coach. With over thirteen years of coaching experience through summer camps, volunteering at my local high school, and one-on-one coaching I have a tremendous passion and energy for helping others improve their skills and achieve their goals.
My coaching strategy focuses on teaching, showing, and understanding rather than demanding and directing. Whether you’re looking for a collegiate scholarship, or to just grow in confidence and maybe make your rec league team, I excel at creating a roadmap and gameplan for us to tackle your goals.
